I've heard/read that the board only recognizes 1333 Mhz Ram despite that the board is advertised as 1866 Mhz with 2133 Mhz (OC).
Is this true? How is this board, in general--it would be used with an FX-8350.

Are there any similar motherboards with the same/better specs?

It's a very good mobo, and not sure where you heard that on the DRAM, it defaults to 1333 when sticks are first installed you can simply set them to 1600 or 1866 depending on what you get and it can run it fine, and should be no problem with an 8350 (up to 2 sticks anyway, that's what the 8350 is rated to, 2 sticks of 1866), 2133 might be tough

Your's are 1600/9 same as the 16GB set I suggested so basic performance is near equal, w/ 16GB overall performance may increase with the additional memory depending on what you do, one note on your current sticks, those are rated at 1.65, which I don't normally recommend for basic 1600/9 sticks, can be indicative of weak ICs, (why does it need 1.65 to run entry level DRAM? only about 12% of 1600 sticks need 1.65, just don't understand why they do that, it also cut's in to OC ability if thinking of OCing the DRAM

I don't know much about OCing [RAM] (the last pc i built was in the late 90's), but if there are any similarly priced RAM sets that would offer same/better perfomance--I'm all ears

is 1.5V the standard for 'lower class' RAM?
---
does lower voltage mean it would [should?] have more overhead to work with when OCing?
