Hey guys, I just found out about powerline today and I was wondering if there were any bandwidth issues and if using powerline will cause any issues with gaming. Also, I was wondering if I got worse ping from powerline networking. Last but not least, do I still get the same transfer speeds? A response would be great!

Thanks,
Blacklex

There's no end to the number of issues with powerline networking. Avoid it like the plague.

Powerline has worked quite well for me in the past. I was living in a shared place previously and wireless signal was very weak to the point where I kept losing connection.

As I was unable to connect via Ethernet cabling (due to the layout of the house), my only option was to use Powerline adapters.

I used these: http://bestwirelessroutersnow.com/tp-link-tl-pa4010kit-...

For gaming, I would always recommend using Ethernet, but if this isn't an option, and if Wireless is anything less than exceptional, then Powerline is a great option...

Will your ping responses and transfer speeds be worse? That's a hypothetical question which is dependent on may factors, including the environment of your home, your hardware, and what you are testing against. In general though - Powerline should be ok for you...
