Hey , I'm getting a custom built PC.
Here are the major components:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($99.99)
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($66.98)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($93.22)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card (SC) ($174.99)
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 )
Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($79.99 )
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer ($15.99)

But I've been reading some threads and reviews about this MOBO ....and it doesn't seem like it's the best choice. I heard it causes some problems when under heavy load, and isn't ideal for overclocking at all.

Does anyone know a much better alternative, AMD-based motherboard?
(Compatible with the build). Something that isn't too pricey. Maybe about 50 more bucks...
It only has 3 stars on Newegg.
I looked up the g46 ver. Will this be a better choice?or are they almost the same?...And is it even compatible with my system?

Please let me know, ASAP.

Thank you!

It seems like a mixed bag, not so good of a motherboard, and yeah for series overclocking you wanted a 990FX board, like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157281&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

It is a well reviewed bored to do a bit of overclocking while not breaking the bank

Well i think i know what you want A high quality, rock solid motherboard that won't break the bank, yet has all the features that would be beneficial .The Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 delivers that.

With support for 6 x SATA 3 6Gb/s connections (Yes, 6!), 4x PCIe 2.0 x16 slots , USB 3.0, Ultra Durable 3, and 8+2 power phases, this board has all the features you'll ever need.Overclocks like a champ as well. The above ASRock 990FX Extreme3 recommendation is a decent motherboard as well.
