Just wondering if this PC system is worth $300 AUD?

250GB 7200RPM

I'd certainly say so, perhaps a bit more than that.

The Q6600 is old, but it still works great for many applications outside of hardcore gaming.

The 1.5TB hard drive is still work a few bucks

Discrete sound card isn't bad (not a great one either, but better than Realtek)

If that version of Windows is legal and retail, it can be moved to a future PC provided that you get the key for it. If it's OEM it'll be bound to the motherboard.

Thank you.
I only plan to do light gaming.
Such as BF3, COD and ARMA 2 (DayZ) don't really care about graphics anything is better than consoles.
This will be my first gaming Pc figured I would get something cheap and upgrade in the future :)

DayZ might be a problem since it's really buggy and problematic even on much better configs. Just saying, you need to test that first.

I would say the price is fairly high and does not rake into account the age of the machine, its not a bad price (but still not great) for the performance but its seriously old now so parts could easily fail any time. Also the hard drive is small and 4Gb RAM is getting a bit limiting but with the monitor and a decent mouse its ok ish but certainly not a bargain.

Is that a second hand system? If it is, then don't buy it. It has lived its better days and each component will soon break. Maybe for $200 I will consider buying it. But for $300? No way! I wouldn't pay 300 bucks for an old hag.
