hi,
i have a lenovo pc with a 4gb ram and a intel core 2 duo. I had not used my desktop for a few weeks and yesterday i turned it on. It switched on but there was no display output. I cleaned the ram , removed the dust, re-fixed the battery. The computer started working fine again. After thsi particular incident my usb transfer rates have drastically reduced. Before it was 20-30 mbps, has no decreased to 983 kbps( It starts at 1 mbps and then slows down). Whenever i connect a usb i get a dialogue box stating ' no hi speed usb ports available' .
Please help,
thanks,
sumukh

Solution
Go to device manager, under USB controllers, try to uninstall all the USB controllers, then scan for hardware changes. If the USB port you are using is the front panel, try to remove USB cable connected to the motherboard and plugged in back.If still the problem persists, backup your important data, reformat and install your windows 7 and all the drivers for the PC.If it is still same, your USB port is faulty.
