Alright, I'm having issues getting my HDMI sound. I know this is a common problem and I've searched the internet high and low and can't find an answer to my question so I'd really appreciate the help!
I can connect my blu ray player to my monitor via HDMI but I get no sound. Makes sense I guess as my monitor itself has no speakers but I can't even get it through my regular speakers. My speakers are cheapy ones and don't have an earphone jack and connect through the regular speaker port, not USB. My monitor has a "for HDMI" audio looking jack but my blu-ray player has no where to put one. Will I have to buy new speakers or a new blu ray player or can it be solved with a new cable somehow?
I have:
-Updated all my drivers for everything
-RealTEK HD sound
My computer:
Monitor: ASUS ML239H
http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/ML239H/#specifications
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-460
In the sound panel it says "NVIDIA high definition audio not plugged in". I don't know if that has anything to do with the HDMI.
Motherboard: Asus P6X58D Premium
