Alright, I'm having issues getting my HDMI sound. I know this is a common problem and I've searched the internet high and low and can't find an answer to my question so I'd really appreciate the help!

I can connect my blu ray player to my monitor via HDMI but I get no sound. Makes sense I guess as my monitor itself has no speakers but I can't even get it through my regular speakers. My speakers are cheapy ones and don't have an earphone jack and connect through the regular speaker port, not USB. My monitor has a "for HDMI" audio looking jack but my blu-ray player has no where to put one. Will I have to buy new speakers or a new blu ray player or can it be solved with a new cable somehow?

I have:
-Updated all my drivers for everything
-RealTEK HD sound

My computer:
Monitor: ASUS ML239H
http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/ML239H/#specifications

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-460
In the sound panel it says "NVIDIA high definition audio not plugged in". I don't know if that has anything to do with the HDMI.

Motherboard: Asus P6X58D Premium

Ok, dumbest thing ever: if I plug my speakers into the jack in the monitor sound will come out. Wow, that was easy.

However, I'd really love to be able to not have to switch the speaker from my motherboard to my monitor every time I want to watch a blu ray. I could have two separate speakers but that would be so much extra clutter!! Any solutions to this? Anyone know of any kind of splitter that might help me accomplish this?
