Recently i brought a Toshiba P50-A01D notebook that they recommended to me at the store for gaming. The game i play is League of Legends. But when i started gaming on the laptop, i get these unusually high lag spikes that freeze up the game constantly even on the lowest graphic settings.

Does anyone know how i can stop these lag spikes? It doesn't happen on my old laptop and it's not a problem with my internet.

The specs are:
2.4Ghz i7 intel core processor
8GB RAM
windows 8
nVIDIA 2GB graphic card

Let me know if you need more information,
Thanks.

It can be power options too. Go to power options and switch to max perfomance while gaming, because power saving enables only integrated graphics card (like intel HD 4000) which performs very bad.

Sorry, how do i install the latest graphics drivers and all other chipset drivers and audio drivers to the latest version?

Under the Display tab i have

Device:
Name: Intel (R) HD Graphics 4600
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
CHip Type: Intel (R) HD Graphics family
DAC Tpe: Internal
Device Type: Full Display Device
Approx total memory: 1797 MB
Current Display mod: 1920 x 1080 (32bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor

My power options is currently at 'Balanced' i changed it to high performance, it helped a little bit but it's still freezing up. I think it's my ping that jumps from 77 (ms) to around 400-800 then drops again. I tried playing league of legends again on my old laptop and it stayed at a steady 80 (ms)

MS or PING has nothing to do with your laptop's hardware, its your internet connection, or you might be downloading something without knowing it.

are you plugged into the outlet? sometimes laptops turn off dedicated graphics on battery, cause it's not showing it.

I've only had league of legends running by itself, so im not sure if i'm downloading something else.

Yeah i'm always plugged into an outlet. But I don't think it's my internet connection because all the other computers/laptops in the house work perfectly without any lag spikes that causes the screen to freeze
