Do i need a sound card when using my Razer Kraken 7.1 headset?

I've heard that in order to get a full surround sound experience you need a sound card. Is this true? and if it is, is it worth paying $50 - $200 for a sound card? Thanks.

No if it connects via USB it has its own sound card built in.
Some Headphones support both USB and non USB but the Kraken 7.1 is a USB headphone and should not need a fancy soundcard or any for that matter.
