Hello

I work as hardware engineer in office and i am fresher :) Please help me out..I have 2 systems in my office. Both are having same problem.

This problem started when there was electricity out in my office.2 timed it happened and system stopped working.

When i switch on them the cpu fan rotates, hdd starts(i can feel them by physicaly opening the cabinet and touching them) but no display is coming on led monitor.I tried changing power supply but same problem is there.

But to bring in notice. They sometimes start in about 20 times trying switching again and again but it is also not sure.

Please any hardware expert help me to sort out this problem.Any help will be helpful

thanx

i suggest you buy a surge protector the breaker itself could not protect from overpower fast enough ,the other thing buy new motherboard and if you could check if the cpu or memory did not get hit also from power surge .

I imagine its onboard graphics you might want to go out and by a CHEAP video card around $40 or something for a GT610 something simple, or even if you have a graphics card laying around will work. If you do happen to put a graphics card in and still nothing i am afraid you have a fried motherboard. I had this issue with my parent-in-laws home pc, where the fans and hard drive would kick on but nothing would come up.

Actually i am just employee. Its not my office. And as far as surge protector is concerned they have a good electric panel installed.Hmm i am also thinking about some component damaged on motherboard but why it starts sometimes

there is no gpu.its just basic system with amd processor and yes there are no separate surge protector.only main electricity panel with mcb (miniature circuit breakers)

The clues suggest a possible problem with the AVR as well. I've had that problem with a client of mine and replacing the AVR did the trick. If that doesn't work, as the others have said, it's the MOBO.

Alright, the only way i can tell if a motherboard has fried is if there is obvious signs of the capacitors "swelling" up or if they have corrosion coming out the tops.
