Well I was thinking of putting together a new build, and giving my current gen1 i7 build to my wife. X79 mobo and a 4930K. At first I was gonna add a 3930k, but it seems the 4930k is an improvement over the 3930k. Im guessing the 4930K ivy clocks better too? Anyone with experience please?

Is Haswell-E going to be a proper jump in power, or just some minor boost? Should I wait or build the Ivy-E now? Is the Haswell-E going to bring that much more to the table to wait for 1 year? WOuld prefer to build now as I wanna start gaming with the wifey and she wants her PC too.

If you keep waiting for the next best thing you'll always be waiting. On the up side it is a hell of a lot cheaper to wait.

Ivy-E is one hell of a cpu so build with it, you won't regret it.

Thinking of the Asus Deluxe or Rampage series boards. Leaning towards the Asus Rampage x79 board because of my current rock solid OC champ Rampage Formula III.

ill tell you something brah, you CAN'T go wrong with an Asus board, i've owned several up until this point and haven't had any issues - infact they were some of the best boards i've owned OC & Stability wise.
