Hi

I am interested in upgrading my graphics card to a GTX 6502gb, because its a gddr5, which I understand performs better than ddr3 cards.

I have a standard hp, with a e8400 core 2 duo, standard sata and 4gb ddr2.

I have already upgraded my psu to 500w. I am concerned if this will be enough for the card and if not what are the problems I could face.

thank you

Solution
For a system using a single GeForce GTX 650 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 400 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 20 Amps or greater and that has at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Thank you rolli59.

I have also read on other posts that the +12v amp, number on the psu also plays a significant role. what is it,or what should it be and how does it effect performance, if at all?
