Hey guys. So my problems started several days ago when my computer would start freezing and unfreezing on my desktop and while I was playing games. At first, my computer would give me notifications about overheating and realizing that my computer was overclocking itself, I turned off the overclock. However that did not do anything. I also decided to go into BIOS and restore the defaults (CMOS like thing). However, this has not helped one bit. I have also switched my RAM into different slots which had no avail. I have also tried clearing the dust on all fans in my tower.

Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k @ 3.40GHz
MB: P8Z77-V Pro
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3
GPU: EVGA nVidia GTX 660
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This may help you find "stable" bios settings.

What is your cpu cooler?

I don't really have a 3rd party cooler. I am currently using the stock heatsink, but I have multiple fans.

Then do not try go over 4.2 GHz or just use stock speeds :)
And turn off all auto overclock settings :)

Try first remove video drivers and install new ones.
