880GA-UD3H Integrated Radeon HD 4250 Driver + Radeon HD 5850

I have an 880GA-UD3H motherboard and a radeon HD 5850.

This board has:
•Integrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics (DirectX10.1)
•Innovative Turbo 3D technology to unleash extra levels of 2D/3D graphics performance

I've read somewhere that this integrated video technology works in addition with radeon video cards (boosting graphics cards). I can't find the link right now.

Does anyone know about this?

I'm just wondering if I should install the motherboards "VGA" drivers from the gigabyte site, as well as the catalyst to make this work. Or would installing these integrated VGA drivers mess up the catalyst drivers?

The technology you're think of is called Hybrid Crossfire; where you could link the on-board (northbridge) graphics with a low-end HD2xxx or HD3xxx series AMD graphics card. Since you already have the HD5850 graphics card installed and are using it, there's no need to install the motherboard integrated VGA drivers.

Hybrid CrossFireX on a 880G/890GX motherboard is done with a Hybrid CrossFireX certified DX11 VGA card (i.e., ATI Radeon HD 5450).

Agreed.
You should also DISABLE the HD4250 graphics in your drivers if that's an option.

The reason only certain cards work is because each GPU processes every other frame so you want the performance to be identical.

The only scenario it might be useful for is adding another monitor beyond what the HD5850 provides, otherwise it's best to disable it completely.

Disable it in the BIOS?

I'm going to run 3dmark now, and then run it again after disabling the integrated in BIOS.
