AMD Overdrive for Overclocking

So I finally, FINALLY got my hyper 212 EVO installed on my 965 BE. I used arctic MX-2 thermal paste with a pea size amount, spread it out thin, attached the cooler with very very little seeping out. (Good first try I would say) And I decided to do some temp tests. At idle I have 38C compared to 51C with stock and so I went to run Overdrive to see how that works out. I ran it and it bumps up the settings to see how high you can OC (I guess) I however just wanted the temps.
This is what happened it went up from 3.4GHz all the way up to 3.9GHz with a 19.5x multiplier and stock 1.525V hitting 56C at 100% load compared to 62C at 95% load stock speeds stock cooler, once it hit 4 it restarted the pc im assuming crashed and said the testing was complete. So now im wondering, there is now a slider that I can use to (I think) OC the cpu though AMD.
Would this be a good idea to do?
Would it do the same as the BIOS?
And 3.9 GHz is pretty good right?

Solution
my experience is you can do better though bios or I use k10 stat though windows to adjust voltage and speeds. if you use the amd overclock you lose the boost feature, at least on my system. the amd test also doesn't test long enough to determine if cpu can maintain the speed for an extend amount of time. so your system my run at that speed fine for a few mins but after that hit the cpu temp shutdown. if it runs at 19.5 I would go strait for it and mabe try 20 if you get stable at that. just monitor your temps carefully. In my case I was able to go 300mhz more then what the amd overdrive did. with temps still acceptable running cpu burn test for an hour

With the processor I have there is no boost so that isnt an issue here. Is k10 almost as good as the BIOS? I really just want to get my CPU to 3.9-4 GHz, I dont really care to go higher. If I can get an overclock that would perform the same as the BIOS I would do that instead as this is my first Overclocking attempt. If they perform the same, is it worth it. That is IF they would perform the same.
