So the i5 2400 is just $50 since my motherboard cant overclock.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121753

Or I can get another motherboard such as the Asus Sabertooth 1155 for $155 (such a great deal)
http://www.frys.com/product/7028831?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG and the i7 2600k for $145 http://www.frys.com/product/6487392?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
I would have gone with a 2500k but Frys doesn't sell them anymore and everywhere else has them for above $200 and I don't want to spend that much, and the Sabertooth went down over $100 when Haswell came out and I though it would be a good time to get a great motherboard for half almost half off.

So my question is witch would be the better option in the long run, the eco i5 with no overclock at cheap, or an i7 with overclock and new motherboard. Price really isn't an issue(not going with ivy or haswell kinda too pricy at the moment), but I don't want to pay for something I wont use to its full extent if I have to.

both cpus will be used with a gtx 650ti boost with 4gb DDR3 1333 ram.

Solution
Get the i7-2600K , even between i7 and i5 is not difference in the performance for game. For the long run the $100 more for the i7 is worth.
