Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade my current specs to prepare for the launch of BF4. As of now I fall into the minimum system requirements (I think). My PC:

OS: W7 Ultimate 64bit
MOBO: MSI 870-G45 AM3
GPU: EVGA GTS 450 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16
PSU: Corsair CX500 500w
CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 250 Dual Core 3.0GHZ 2MB L2 Cache 65w
RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 2X2GB DDR3-1600
HDD: 500GB
RES: 21.5" 1920x1080

Please recommend me what to upgrade to with $300! Thanks in advance.

Solution
Yes it is a lot better than your current Athlon, some of them even unlock into X4 (done in BIOS) but not guarantied. I had one paired with HD6850 and it was a good match.

Cpu like the 965 if you can find one. If the board has a bios update for piledriver support, A 6300 would serve you well.

More ram, at least a total of 8gb.

Wait for the new radeons from AMD or buy now they are clearing out all of the 7000 series atm at most retailers.

alright i guess i'll get it along with the 7850 you suggested
+ the 8gb ram recommendation from you and fixer
thanks a lot !!!!

edit: is 500w enough ?
edit: my local computer store has the regular edition of this processor. the only difference is the 4000mhz vs 2000mhz hypertransport speed. if i get the 2000mhz, will i notice a huge gap in terms of performance ?
