My speakers arent working on my computer!

I'm pretty sure my monitor(HP w2007) has built in speakers but i also bought some cheap logitech speakers but they're not working. i've plugged them into every possible port(theres even a headphone jack on my monitor) i've checked all the drivers and they say that theyre up to date...my processing system is windows vista home premium. please help!

try reinstalling or installing new audio drivers on your computer http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
here's a link for new audio drivers, if you don't know how to uninstall your drivers just say so and ill help

I tried doing it but its still not working...whats worse is that it says its working but its not

so you unistalled your sound drivers and reinstalled new ones using device manager
if that doesn't work on your task bar there should be a speaker icon, right click it and under the options click playback devices, select any options that works if none works tell me why
