I've put together a system build for a gaming computer, was hoping someone could give me some on advice on if there's some part swap outs I can do to improve performance or save money.

I want a high performance gaming desktop, but hopefully there's also a way I can spend less.

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570

MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-Z77-HD3

MEMORY: G.Skill DDR3-1600 8GB Dual Channel

STORAGE: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 2TB

CASE: Antec Twelve Hundred V3

POWER SUPPLY: 520W Antec 80 Plus Bronze

OPTICAL DRIVE: Samsung SH-224DB

VIDEO CARD: Gigabyte GF GTX 650Ti

MONITOR: Samsung 24" inch

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I am quite attached to the case, but everything else, i'm quite open to suggestions.

I live in Australia and MAX budget not including monitor is $1100

It looks good to me. If you arent overclocking, there is no need for the Z87 motherboard. You can pick a H87 or B85 to save some money.

You don't need Windows 7 Pro if you are not running more than 16GB of RAM, Home Premium will be perfectly fine. For $1100 not including monitor I would do something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($269.00 @ PCCaseGear)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($49.00 @ Scorptec)
Motherboard: Asus Z87-C ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($155.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($95.00 @ CPL Online)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($72.00 @ CPL Online)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($329.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($85.00 @ Scorptec)
Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($135.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer ($25.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Total: $1214.00

A bit over budget but way better GPU, less expensive case, and newer CPU and motherboard.
