I would most definitely take the EVO over the other motherboard simply for the fact that it is a better built board, with lots more features. also i believe that the EVO is pretty good for over clocking as well, as well as looking very nice in your case.
probably wouldn't have an issue. generally most piledriver cpus plugged right into un-updated bulldozer bios and were able to run right out of the box (after a fashion). generally speaking though i would request the merchant make sure the motherboard has the latest bios in it before they send it to you. many merchants are willing to do that for you if you request it. Because while it might work alright out of the box, it probably won't work well till you flash your bios anyway.
Yes, 1604 version needed (released October 2012) for the PRO. Hopefully, you'll not get an older motherboard.
The EVO R2.0 features the Flashback, so you can update the BIOS even if the CPU is not supported.

Would you recommend the EVO 2.0 over the pro though? I can get it for an almost identical price.

Cool . I was a bit suspicious, since it was slightly cheaper, but I realized that the boards came from 2 different sites, the one selling the EVO being consistently cheaper than the other.
