The cpu i have had a 1156 socket, Which is discontinued. So i need to buy a new cpu and mobo, and $300 is pretty much the max. i dont mind what brand, i just want the best buy for buck type of thing

I would get a used 1156 or 1366 combo for $300 or less.Best bang for buck.
Lynnfield or Bloomfield would probably be better for gaming than AMD FX-series.
There's quite a few p7p55 8-phase boards on ebay..about $100
cpu could be had for$70
or 1366..still could be under $250
