So I've noticed that almost every PSU (at least the ones I am looking at/for) have an 8-pin connector for the CPU power. Well FM2 and FM2+ motherboard have 4-pin connectors, so I was wondering, would this cable work to power the CPU or are the connectors 'backwards' (male and female need to be reversed)? Thanks!

a lot of those connecters are 8pin(4+4) you can pull it apart.. if your familiar with the 24pin(20+4) pin atx power connector.. they come apart similiarly and are pretty common on the psu's your probably looking at..

Most of the modular PSUs seem to have an 8-pin connector on (built-in to) the PSU which probably wouldn't fit a 4+4 correctly? Not 100% sure on this since I've never had to mess with this before. ALl my personal builds have just had 8-pin CPU connectors :D
