What is the 7960 of the new Radeon GPU's coming out?

Solution
AMD will launch five chips: the $89 R7 250 (1GB of DRAM / 2,000+ scores in the 3DMark FireStrike benchmark), the $199 R7 260X (2GB / 3700+), the $199 R9 270X (2GB / 5500+), the $380 R9 280X (3GB / 6800+), and the R9 290X(4GB), which wasn’t priced .

In the lineup, the 280X would be the equivalent card to the 7950, being the tier down from the 290X.
If you have a budget of $300, might be worth waiting for a nice deal on an aftermarket 7970 when these release.
I assume that is a typo and you really mean the 7970.

The equivalent card in the new series would be the R9 290X, being its top card other than the eventual dual GPU version or barring something like a Titan.
In terms of performance, that would be the R9 280X as apparently its just a rebranded and overclocked 7970 Ghz edition.

In terms of performance order, follow the model numbers. 290X is the best, 260X is the budget option.

:( i meant the 7950

so dude i meant the 7950, Which would be that in the options? and will they cost lower than 300? What cards will the price drop after release?

Yeah. The 300$ price tag is a little scary cause thats 40 over my budget but maybe its worth it. Yeah, if the 7970 drops or a GTX 770 than im getting one of those :) Will the GTX 770 drop or maybe not?

True.. What i dont understand is people always ready to buy gpus right when new ones is about to come out. IMO its a bad time to buy and it would be better off after the amds release to have more options then to buy a older card and have buyers remorse and trying to sell/return the old card just to get the new one.

Yeah i am going to wait for the new AMD's. Im aiming at the 280x. Is that a little better than the 7950 and will it be 300$ or a lil less?
