My MSI HD 7970 is being recognized on my computer as a HD 7900?

Inside my computer is an msi hd 7970 twin frozr 3gb gpu, but on my catalyst control center and steam information settings its telling me i only have an HD7900 installed and dx9 when i should have dx11, any know whats happened and is there anything i can do?

DirectX is part of your windows OS. if you have win7 or win8 you will have dx11 as well. older OSes may not have dx11.

Run dxdiag utility to check your directX information.
