Hey guys :)
I've been snooping around the forums for a bit and now finally made up a build I like. It's my first attempt though - I only bought whole systems or laptops yet.
I live in Germany, therefor most of the part sellers used on this forum aren't usable for me. I build this PC with the PC Configurator on alternate.de.

Approximate purchase date: October 2013
Budget Range: 1000-1300€
System Usage: gaming (AAA title and some more classic games), online gaming, photo editing etc.
Buying a monitor: No
Buying an OS: Yes

My monitor resolution: 1900x1200
Overclocking: Maybe
Parts Preferences: Intel & GeForce

Build:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 2.5" 120GB
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card: MSI GTX770 Twin Frozr
Power Supply: be quiet! Pure Power 630W 80 PLUS Bronze
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl
DVD Drive: Asus DRW 24F1ST

Greetings & Thanks for your advice :)

Looks ok in general, though I think I'd select a better PSU than that, Corsair Builder
series for example, or a Thermaltake Toughpower, with a somewhat higher rating to
cope with any future expansion such as SLI, etc. A gold PSU would help with efficiency
& reliability aswell, doubly so if you intend to oc the CPU at all.

With a budget of 65 UKP for a PSU, I'd prefer just buying a used Thermltake Toughpower
850W+ instead. :D (infact, I've obtained 1kW Toughpowers for less than that)

Is your budget already used up with the spec you've listed? If not, I would suggest any
of these:

(sorry I'm using UK site refs, but the products should be the same on the .de site)

Best of luck!! :)

As mentioned in my initial post - Germany :)

@ mapesdhs: The PSU you found on ebay delivers up to 1475W - do you really think I'd ever need that much? Isn't it extremely overpowered?

@ Marcopolo123: I don't like AMD. Had both Nvidia and AMD GPUs and I got better performance and less issues from Nvidia.

Why do you suggest other cases and air/water coolers? Whats the advantage of those compared to my choice?

You're absolutely correct, it's complete & utter overkill for your needs. :D

Either way, I'm going to bid on it for sure! 8) I have a pending 990X
build that needs a monster PSU, hehe.

There were other listings I spotted though, 750W, 850W, those would
be fine. Almost all of the builds I've done have been with 750W/850W
T.P. PSUs bought off eBay. In some cases I managed to win new units,
ie. items someone bought but just never used. I've bagged several
1000W/1200W units in recent years aswell.

Have a look at the other 2 links I mentioned.

Ian.

I read some reviews on the PSU and CPU coolers and decided to go with two of your suggestions :)
The Scythe Mugen 4 isn't much more expensive than the CM 212 Evo, but performs way better. The PSU is a bit more expensive, but the 100W extra and better efficiency are great.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K
CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 4 SCMG-4000
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 2.5" 120GB
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card: MSI GTX770 Twin Frozr
Power Supply: Corsair RM750
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl
DVD Drive: Asus DRW 24F1ST

That's my current build :)
