550 W power suply enough for a fx 8350 and 7970?

i am looking to upgrade to a fx 8350 and a sapphire 7970 vapor-x

i have this PSU.Is it enough to run it without overclock?

Technically that unit only provides 450W on the 12v rails(which is the rails you are using on modern PCs).

You need to get a better one.

well i am from romania.a lot of stores don't ship here and PSU market is very limited.Best i can do is post the PSUs that are in my budget range and if you guys can help with picking them.i just wan't it to work with those components without OC.And here most PC components are way more expensive.there 50 $ for anything=50 euro + taxes here.

Wait! 2 x 12v Rails. Meaning 300W each = 600W total.

Makes sure you plug in 2 DIFFERENT PCI-e power adapters into the card.

It does not quite work like that.
12v1 can output 300 watts or 12v2 can output 300 watts. But both rails combined can only supply 450watt of 12v.
If rail 1 is putting out 300 watts ,rail 2 can only output 150 watts.
Gaming power draw of the 7970 is around 190watts. max power draw is 270. Which would be gaming,watching a movie and bitcoin mining at the same time.

Your upgrade will be fine on the power supply you have. It meets all of the AMD requirements and is a decent rated power supply, as shown in my link above where it is tested.

I agree with this statement, you never really get the actual wattage of a power supply especially if it is a two railed power supply. That is why I always go for a single railed. Take mine for example XFX Pro-Series 850 watt power supply, I probably get roughly around 700-750 actual wattage out of it being a single rail power supply.

now i am wondering about the r9 280x vaporx.from what i read(quite a bit),it is basically the same card,but cheaper.FPS diferrence depends on the game.any advice on that card?.also the r9 stays a bit cooler on full load

The 280x is a rebadged card. So it should be very similar. if it is cheaper then go for it.

i found it a lot cheaper but the vapor x version requires 750 PSU.how is that i don't know since the reference card requires 500.gigabyte model requires 600.
