Hey guys put together a gaming rig this week and finally started stability testing with AIDA64. I am worried I may have improperly installed the cooling system. The 4770k is idling at ~30C sometimes 29C. When I ran the AIDA64 stability test for about 15 mins, the average temp was 55C but some cores had a high of 70-71C.

I am wondering if I should be seeing these kind of numbers? Should I look at repositioning the cooling head that goes on the CPU? Want to avoid the thermal paste cleanup/mess if it looks normal to some others hopefully with the same or similar setup...

I have the corsair h100i with the fans pointing up at the radiator in a 500R case. All other fans were left as the case had set them.

To what did you connect the pumps power? If you connected the Pump to the CPU power header then you need to disable the automatic fan control in the bios and let it always run at full speed.

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering if they could be false readings as well and because of this was trying to find the best cpu temperature program. Any advice on that front? I actually installed hwinfo64 which looks like it has better readings. I will try and re-run aida64 tonight and see what hwinfo reports...

As far as voltage settings... I have the ASUS Maximus Hero VI and I haven't yet played with anything in the bios settings, however, I did see some things are set to Automatic, so I wonder if it's doing some sort of Auto OC-ing? I will look at that as well and report back with AIDA64 + HWINFO64 report.

HWInfo is fine. Also, when you run your stress test again have a look at this problem cores. If the temp only goes up there for like a sec, you are probably fine. If it stays up there for a few seconds you might want to consider remounting your CPU cooler.

I don´t think your mobo auto OCed but some stress tests "override" your BIOS vcore settings if everything is on auto.

I actually just replaced the h100i and now with AIDA64 the cpu averages in the mid 50C and max maxing out at 64C. I think this looks normal now :). I could have probably just reseated it but since its a week old I thought its safer to just replace the entire system.
