Would an 8 core processor(ex. AMD FX 8350) or a 4 core(ex. Intel I7 3820) for playing next gen games?

I would say so, those benchmarks are in conquest mode (not assault mode) which means the maps are up to 64 players and all vehicles are included. There are some floating around from assault mode where the max players are limited to 20 and vehicles are not used.

Based on those benchmarks, the 8350 would be a better bet for next gen gaming.

This exact bench has swayed my decision for my little bro's build, it was strict budget so it was either 8320 + little oc and a 7870 + ssd boot drive, or i5 + little oc, 7850 and no ssd boot drive :) Its not finalized yet though I'll have to make a thread!

I am running the 8350 + HD 7870XT and I OC'ed from 4.0 to 4.4 and it runs everything I can throw at it. The 8320 should hit 4.0 GHz no problem, perhaps a bit more if you want to push it.

You can check out my CPU-Z validation, and my build in my sig to see the parts I chose.

Possibly...for twice the money, you'd get likely 1-2 FPS, perhaps 3 FPS more.
