No. AM3 motherboard is enough to run all the fx series, but there wont be L3 cache on the cpu

MSI = Junk...sorry to be so blunt but they have the faultiest motherboards I have ever seen out of a company that makes motherboards, stay with ASrock or ASUS....those are top tier motherboard companies.

As for your RAM it needs to be upgraded to 8 gb thats probably why you are lagging a bit.

For your CPU an i5 will severely outweigh a FX-8350 in gaming and performance as long as the applications don't use more then 5+ cores (98% of programs/games don't)

Your Video Card needs a serious overhaul as well....a 660 GTX will outperform that card and if you SLI them you wont have to worry about Micro-shutter and get amazing performance.

Power-supply: Don't waste your money on a bad power supply like the one you have listed...you dont want all those components getting fried because of a faulty wire, this power supply will be much better.

Also please remember to select your best answer so that others may learn from your thread. Remember that you can contact me anytime about any questions or concerns you might have about things in the future. Thank you for your time and have a pleasant day/night.

Hmmm...i dont much care for either gigabyte or msi, but i may be a little bias since i use nothing but asus motherboards anyways. I don't know i give people an asrock and asus recommendation just cause (you never know what they are really going to do with it) but they have less failures under overclocking and stress.
