Hi there, community.

So, I'm currently building my new gaming/video editing PC and I've hooked every cable/connectors on the motherboard (Asus Z87 Sabertooth), the only connector missing is the CPU. My power supply is a Corsair AX 860 and it came with a 4+4 Pin cable for the CPU but it doesn't fit/ it doesn't want to connect on the top left corner of my motherboard (http://i.imgur.com/aJpoTcf.jpg). The holes on the 4+4Pin cable provided by the power supply don't match the ones on the motherboard.

Could someone help me out, please?

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

Remember that even, if both sides can do the job that CPU cable have a correct way to connect. Could you take a picture of the cable and motherboard when you try to connect both?

Alright, I'll try to upload some pictures. Unfortunately I cannot take a picture when I try to connect both because all the other cables and components are already connected...

-This is the 8-pin CPU cable that I'm trying to connect on my motherboard: http://i.imgur.com/e7VrOgD.jpg
-This is the other end of the same cable (the end where I connect to the Power Supply): http://i.imgur.com/pZIQ0Nr.jpg
-And this is the place on the motherboard (top left corner) where I think I'm supposed to connect that CPU 8-pin power cable: http://i.imgur.com/t4LzEtZ.jpg

As you can see, the holes on the cable and the holes on the motherboard do not match (the CPU cable has 6 "round" holes, where the motherboard only has 4)

I'm so sorry! The cable does fit, I guess I didn't force it enough, I feel really awkward now... Thank you so much for your help, your answer made me try it again and it worked!
