Hey everybody,
I'm in the process of building a budget game system for my nephew. Just wanted to have your guys' input on what I came up with. Anything would be appreciated!

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($119.99 @ Amazon)

Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46 ATX AM3+ ($74.99 @ Amazon)

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 ($79.98 @ Amazon)

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB ($104.99 @ Amazon)

Case: Thermaltake VL80001W2Z ATX Mid Tower ($29.00 @ Amazon)

PSU: Rosewill Stallion 400W ATX12V ($35 @ Amazon)

Total: $481.08

(Total includes shipping and tax. IMPORTANT: If you're a student at a university, sign up for a 6month free trial with Amazon Prime which gives you free 2 day shipping. My build had all free shipping and was actually cheaper than if I bought it on Newegg)

Cooler for the CPU (Hyper 212 EVO), need OS, optical drive, HD(s), etc, what you show looks like a good start on a budget build ;)

Yeah I was thinking if I would need a cooler if I won't be OC my CPU. What do you think? I already have an OS, optical drive, and HDs on the side :)

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($63.59)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($63.59)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($90.09)
Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB Video Card ($69.99)
Case: Cooler Master RC-912-KKN4 ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99)
Power Supply: Antec 450W ATX12V Power Supply ($42.39)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit) ($74.99)

If you're not OC'ing you won't need an aftermarket cooler. You can save money getting a WD Blue or Seagate Barracuda HDD.

You will want a cooler , the stock one is not sufficient and gets loud after a few months.

Those are all decent brands you listed, i'm partial to sapphire out of the three, but MSI card are supposed to have good cooling as well.

Just had everything installed last night! The computer runs great and smoothly, is there anywhere where I can test the computers performance and share it here?

Yeah that's what I read and I actually picked up 2GB for the video card instead of 1 as originally planned. An extra $40 goes a long way ;)

Glad to hear all is well, ;)  You could stress test it with Prime or whatever, or run benchmarks and start a new post with what you get...Can go ahead and close this thread
