New Build Feedback Appreciated - (OCT.3, 2013)

Hello everyone,

View my components here View My Build

I already own Windows 8 Pro and other components not listed.

The 16 Gigs of Ram will be for editing the wildlife videos that I occasionally shoot. I have also been approached to help in some Battlefield 4 Live streaming events. I have not decided if I will get involved in that or not. But I decided to go with 16 Gigs, figuring this would be beneficial for what I do. This will be primarily a gaming machine.

Also, since I do not plan to over-clock, will I be fine using the stock CPU fan? If not, any suggestions?

I really appreciate your input!

I stay pretty busy, so I will answer any questions when time allows.

Thank you all very much!

No reason to spend so much, actually the AMD FX-8350 will be better for your video editing as most video rendering/editing software can use more than 6 cores if its available. Also I got your 16 gb in there for you (usually i would be against recommending 16gb, but since you sound like you do alot of video editing I will recommend it). Also this motherboard will do what you need to do...same thing with the power supply, seasonic is good but XFX is just as good, along with being easier on the back pocket. Also the V300 series for solid state drive is just as good as any other SSD out there. I hope this helps answer your question a little bit better. Also please remember to select your best answer so that others may learn from your thread. Remember that you can contact me anytime about any questions or concerns you might have about things in the future. Thank you for your time and have a pleasant day/night.

Hi ddbtkd456,

Thanks for such a quick response. I know I stated the build will be for editing videos, when in actuality, this will be primarily a gaming build. I just got in too big a hurry when I posted my original post. I meant to say the 16 Gigs of RAM will be used for editing my occasional wildlife videos. This build will be primarily a gaming build. This is why I chose the i7-4771 CPU. I have edited my original post to reflect what I originally intended to say. Sorry for that.

Thank you very much for your input! I really appreciate it!

NOTE TO SELF: Do not get in a hurry when posting on message boards! :p

I still recommend the FX-8350 for these reasons: The FX-8350 has the extra cores for your video editing and producing, also the FX-8350 is pretty much like running an i5 when it comes to game (the i5 would out perform the 8350, but you do not want to loose those extra cores for the video editing, trust me on this).
