New AMD FX-8350 cooler sugestions (stock cooler is just too freaking loud)

Hey all
Ive heard that the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a good choice. Also, I still have an Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 Pro CPU, that I used on my old AMD dual core: I thought of just mounting that onto the new pc (since its AMD3+ compatible), but since I got an 8 core Im afraid it wont cool it enough.

Should I go for the Cooler Master, or just install the Artic with new termal paste?

I doubt the Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 is an any better than the stock cooler.

I currently have a Hyper 212 Evo in push/pull on 8350 and have great temps at 4.7Ghz. Also, it is much quieter than the stock cooler. If you have room for it, I would highly recommend it.

Turn off your PC at the PSU switch and measure from about where you estimate the top of the CPU is to where the case side cover will be. See if you have the 159mm (6 1/4"). Or better yet, remove the old cooler and measure exactly.

Yeah, I think it's safe to say that, for that case, a low-profile cooler of some sort (whether it be a tower with a 92mm fan, or a top-down cooler) is going to be your main options. Still, like clutchc said, probably best to measure to be exact. (I can't find your case's CPU cooler clearance.)

Honestly, with a case with such modest cooling capacity (80mm rear exhaust, 80mm side intake, with optional addition 120mm side intake?) it might be a better choice to invest in a more modern case. Not only will it have better airflow, but your options for aftermarket cooling will be greatly expanded. I realize you probably can't do both at the moment, but at least with a new case your stock cooler won't be screaming at you quite as loud all the time.

Interesting... I might go for this one (the WB version is just a color change?). I also searched the Artic Freezer 7 but it seems it may take ram slots.
The evo I think it will not fit (I dont wanna risk it!)

There was a glaring in the 8units for voltage is a previous "best answer"....

The unit called for, Mv,stands for Mega Volts...

Do not look for that adjustment. Look for mV instead - millivolts.

Unless you are directly connected to a nuclear power plant.
