I just finished my first build a month ago with the Antec 900 case. I used third party dust filters with the 2 intake fans. They were starting to get pretty dusty. I realized it would be a hassle to open the computer every month to clean it. So I shot some compressed air through the fans and dust filters from the outside. But I think this just pushed the dust off the filter and into the computer. So are these dust filters useless because they are not easily removable? Should I just remove them?
Also, after I added the dust covers to the plastic fan mounts, I could not get them to clip back to the drive bays. I knew I was trying to put them on correctly, so I tried pushing really hard. Each fan mount had 4 plastic clips on it, they all got bent and 1 broke off before I realized what was going on. It was too thick with the dust cover on. I got it to stay on with a little creativeness. But will having 1 clip broken and the rest bent cause the fan to vibrate more, and shorten its life and/or slow its speed?
