Hey all, not sure if this in the right section as its my first post but i assume it is.

My current spec:

CPU: i7 920 @2.7ghz

RAM: 6Gb DDR3

GPU: HD 5450 1GB

Im just wondering if i would be better of building a complete new system, or upgrading the gpu this month and upgrading the CPU, MOBO and RAM December. Posted below is the questions from the sticky "How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice". Also I'm wondering if this would be a good deal: OverClockers

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Budget Range: £800

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Programming, Games, Net Surfing.

Parts to Upgrade: GPU, CPU, RAM, MOBO, PSU

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: AMD/ATI

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1024x768 and 1600x1200

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: GPU broke so the 5450 is a placeholder ATM. Also I'm due for a upgrade.

Solution
Your processor right now is actually not that slow, and is still one of the fastest out there. A GPU upgrade would get you pretty far.

What power supply do you have currently? I would also recommend a SSD if you dont already have one, but I am guessing you already have a Windows install, so it would be a little of a hassle.

I know, my old GPU broke and that was all I could afford at the time, is was that or no PC.

And aside from poor gaming performance and the occasional lag with certain applications nothing. I just didn't want to be bottlenecked by the CPU and RAM. I was thinking of picking up a 7970 or waiting for the new AMD cards if that helps.

I have a Corsair 600W PSU, and i'm not sure I could justify spending the money on a SSD at the moment.

Money spent on an SSD is a good idea, games will run smoother and load times will be much quicker! However I also recommend a new GPU for £800 you can get a fairly decent GPU as well as a 128GB (Or more if you feel like it) SSD!
