Is the switch worth it?

Hello fellow members. I currently have an AMD FX 8320 overclocked to 4.4Ghz with dual 7970's. Now here's where it gets interesting. My wife goes out and buys and intel 4670K and an Asus Maximus VI hero board. She tells me I can do whatever I want with it.

I have been wanting to switch to intel cause I hear it is a faster processor since I pretty much use it for gaming. I have not really had many problems with the FX but in reading reviews and watching videos I have come to conclude that the minimum frame rates on an intel system is higher by about 20-40% depending on the game which makes for a smoother experience.

So what do you think. Do I do the switch or not? What else am I missing if I do switch or do I just stay with AMD?

Thanks

It really depends on what you're doing with your computer.
If you're doing straight up gaming (depending on the game), then it really doesn't matter, it will go either way.

If you're doing heavier stuff (like video rendering), then depending on the application you use, one may be better than the other.

If it's mostly single or dual threaded applications then the Intel will generally perform better. But if it's a multi threaded application, it will be closer to a tie or the 8320 will (generally) overtake.

Since you already have both of them, why not make a server/NAS/second computer?
