New Computer Doesn't Boot

Currently trying to boot with as few components as possible, so I'll just list those parts.

i5 4670k CPU
z87a Motherboard
2x4GB DDR3 Patriot RAM
Thermaltake TR2 700W

When powered on, the computer goes on for about 2 seconds each time before continuously resetting, and eventually just shutting off.

I've exhaustively read shortstuff's no post guide without luck. The only possibility I can think of is that the RAM isn't listed as compatible with the motherboard. However, there's a RAM-ok onboard button on the motherboard that's supposed to light up if the RAM is causing issues, and the computer restarts before the light ever goes on.

ANY help or suggestions would be appreciated.

You know, that would actually make a lot of sense. While troubleshooting earlier, I noticed that the everything ran fine in the computer if the power cable for the CPU isn't plugged in. Only when the CPU was powered on were there any issues. I'll try getting an officially compatible PSU tomorrow.

Okay well I'm using a new PSU. If I plug in my graphics card it shuts down still, but without it it stays on fine. Maybe it's just because there aren't any drivers installed for it yet. Currently have my monitor plugged into the onboard graphics, but it doesn't give my monitor any signal. Ideas?

The monitor is a HannsG HE247 connected with no adapters and a VGA cable. I've also tried connecteing to a TV via DVI and still no luck.

The GPU is a GTX 650 2GB

And no, I see nothing.

When I had the gpu in, I used an adapter from it to the monitor. It did not work, nothing on the monitor and the PSU fan would make a somewhat loud noise.

I removed the Gpu and there's no loud ps fan. I did not use an adapter when I connected it from the motherboard to the monitor, yet nothing happens still.
I also tried using an HDMI cable from the mobo to a tv screen and no luck.

The ram isn't actually on the vendor's list (it's a Patriot RAM, model PSD38G1600KH). But in the manual there's a whole lot of Patriot RAMS that seem compatible with the mobo so I thought it wouldn't be a problem as the Mobo (an Asus Z87-A) has the MemOK! feature...

Which I should now mention, I never saw the MemOk! light ever work. I pressed it when computer would be on but nothing.

My guess is that maybe it's the ram? However shouldn't the memok still light up? I tried using other ram too (however that isn't on the QVL but just wanted to test what would happen with the MemOK light...)
