How can I find out what power supply I need?

Hi I am planning to upgrade my computer but need help with the power supply I am planing on getting a new amd3+ motherboard and an gtx 680 I have a amd fx 6100 running at 3.6GHz I have 16 gbs of ram 2 sticks of 8 gbs my case case some lights I have a DVD RW and would like to use this set up for gaming if you could find a power supply as well that would be great if not that's ok

Power supply calculators are the best way to find out, especially if you use one that can calculate the load on the +12V rail, but if you don't want to use one, this page might help you get a rough idea, since the gpu is often the biggest power draw:

yea, the easiest way, is to look at recommend wattage based on your gpu. according to NVidia you need a minimum of 550W psu to run a 680. I don't really like psu calculators because they provide the absolute minimum values and do not factor in any headroom.
