I used to LOVE this game and now I have no idea where it is or what it was called.
I played it a lot around 2004.
The game was an african safari-ish game. Basically, this guy in a hot air balloon tells you about the scenario. It was NOT a shooter/hunter type of game, or a picture taking type of safari game. You play as the animals, and you create the ecosystem.
Say your goal is to have 20 zebra, 10 lions, 5 crocodiles and 30 flamingos and the more you progress the more you can "buy" the animals, rain water to fill up empty watering holes, or shrubs for zebras to eat off of. Or you could just do a free play without a goal. The more goals you reached, the more 'levels' were open to play and more animals were incorporated in the game.
You NEVER play as a human, and you only play as a certain animal if you want, and you can't play the game fully if you're just an animal all the time.
If I remember correctly the icon on the computer for the game was a zebra head, if that helps at all.
