My pc currently consists of:
asrock z77 extreme4 mobo
intel i7 3770k @4.2ghz
hyper 212 evo
1tb western digital caviar green
120gb samsung 840 ssd
2x8gb ripjawz x 1600mhz
2x4gb g.skill sniper 1600mhz
evga gtx 660 SC 2gb gfx card
750 watt ocz zt series power supply

all inside of an NZXT Phantom full tower

Now my question for you is, I want to achieve maximum performance for not alot of money. The main games i am looking to play are BATTLEFIELD 4 (this is the main game i will play, and if ayone needs squad mates please feel free to ask for my origin), skyrim, Borderlands 2, Dirt 3 etc. But mainly i am going to be playing battlefield. Now i am only 17 and i pay for stuff on my own and need to pay for gas money... so i am not trying to spend a fortune that's why i was looking into 660 SC sli setup. i was wondering what your opinions on that would be. my other options would be selling my 660 and buying either a 680 or more likely a 770 or going amd with a 7950/70. I just wanted to get some opinions on what you thought would be best. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Solution
The fastest solution will be the first option. But if you want it easy and dont want to get into complication that multi gpu configuration might bring then 770 or 7970 ghz edition.
Two 760s ($520) wud be the most performance ya can get without upgrading ya PSU. At some point ya will be moving to 120/144 Hz and Lightboost's ability to eliminate motion blur will be a huge factor in his Hz monitors....Even tho, that would give best performance, i think I would lean towards a single 770 and add another (along with 850 watt PSU) come XMas time.

I think the guy above me posted in the wrong thread.. Anyway.. Since you already have a 660 SC, the cheapest route is to get a second 660 SC and run SLI. Two 660s is more power than a 770/7970.

i know that multi gpu configurations can cause frame stuttering/tearing and things along those lines and i also know that not all games are optimized for two gpu's and will play like there is only one but what other complications are there? i mean i know heat and noise and power draw are problems aswell but like are there other significant draw backs that sli could cause me? sorry if this is a newb question i don't know an exorbitant amount about sli setups.

So you knew all about it :) .
