When packaging an item for RMA repairs, are all documentation required?

If I'm just sending in a graphics card for an RMA repair, then do I need to package all the little pieces of paper that came with it, as well? For a refund, I'd understand that you'd need all the paper, but what about repairs, where you are going to get the same item back, anyway?

I'm wondering about this, while I debate about RMAing my graphics card or not for a rattling fan problem I'm having, and while I look for all the little pieces of paper that came with it.

I've had the item for only about three months so I haven't even actually cleaned up the boxes yet—they're still located where I built the PC! But I'd imagine that in two years (the item is under warranty for three years), it'd be harder for me to find all the necessary items. I can't imagine how I would be able to keep track of everything; I like to throw away unnecessary things, and some boxes are just bigger than others.

Boxes don't matter they usually don't care when it comes to boxes (you can always find boxes that fit), what they care about is the defective item, and the paper work along with it (manual, cd's/drivers, that sort of stuff). I keep mine all in a filing cabinet under computer things.
