Hello all,

This is my first post on this site, so please don't go hard on me...
I am planning on building my first gaming PC, and my question is, as said in the title:

Will my first build play every future game at at least 40 FPS?

Specs:

CPU: i5 4670K (@ 3.4 GHz)
Motherboard: ASUS B85M-G
RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 770
Power: 700 Watt Cooler Master

My monitor has 1080p.

Thanks,

GijsStrijb

I am an amd user but a friend has a 480 nvidia he bought almost 5 years ago and still plays almost every game very high settings ~60 fps. So with your months old 770 you should be very good for some time.

8Gb RAM should be enough for gaming - put the money in something else (cooling, case with good airflow).
Also, wait for the R7/R9 cards from AMD to come out in a few days. Even if you`ll not get one of those, the prices for other GPU`s should drop a bit.

And you didn`t mention the case. I think (not sure) that you mobo is mATX, so you might look for a small case with good airflow, it`s up to you. I`ll go for the Silverstone SUGO SG09 for my build.

Also, get a better PSU, and this is VERY IMPORTANT! You can also look for a (semi)modular one if going for a smaller case, to improve the airflow. Some of the recommended brands: Seasonic, Corsair, Silverstone, XFX, OCZ. I`ll go for a Silverstone 750W fully-modular, with the Silverstone PP05 cables, for better airflow in that small case.

Good luck with your build!

LE: Sorry mate, forgot about the initial question :ouch: Just get a better PSU, and you`re set for gaming with that rig.
