Hi,

My graphics card has a mini HDMI and two dual link DVI outputs. I'd like to hook up an old monitor to act as a temporary second display, and it only has a single link DVI input port. Will there be any compatability issues? What should I use?

Everything I find from a google search seems to only be concerned about whether or not single link cables can be used with dual link ports, not the other way around.

You can most likely use any DVI cable. Single link outputs use the same connector as dual link outputs, it is just the single link cable that has less pins in it. Take a look at the port on the monitor, if it has all the holes in it a dual link cable will fit just fine as well. Dual link has more bandwindth for higher refresh rates and resolutions, like 120Hz/1080p etc, anything at or below 1080p 60Hz can be done with a single DVI link, so it shouldn't give you any problems as such.
