GTX 760 power connection help

Hello everyone,

I just got the ASUS GeForce GTX760 DirectCU II OC 2GB graphics card and it came with a 2x 6pin PCI to an 8pin adapter.

I have a silly question, do I connect just one 6pin PCI cable to the 6pin connector to power my card or do I connect two 6pin PCI cables to it to power the card?

you need both connected to the card... the 6 and the 8 pin.

depedning on your power supply, you may need or not need the adapters.

if the power supply is newer, you shouldnt need any adapters

I think what he is saying is he doesn't have the 8pin plug. He probably only has two 6pin plugs.

You can safely try it with only one 6pin in the adapter. If it works, great. If not, you'll probably need to use a molex to 6pin adapter as well. This can be bad however. What PSU do you have?

My PSU has 1kw power.
It seems to be working just fine with one 6pin plugged in.
I took a picture of the cable with a link below, you can see the 2x input 6pin to a 8pin going to the graphics card. I only have 1x 6pin plugged in, but have one extra 6pin not used. Do I need to plug it in or just leave as is?

If it's working you'll probably be fine. If it was bad, it wouldn't be working. I question your "1kW" PSU if it doesn't have ANY 8pin plugs.
