Hello.

I just have a small question. Now I have a 17'' screen with a resolution of 1280x1024. I plan to upgrade to a 27'' 1080p, but Im a bit worried about the detail of the screen. The 17'' has about 95ppi, but the 27'' - about 80ppi. Is that a huge difference and will it be quite noticeable, as I sit about 1,5-2ft from screen?

I would go with a 23" 1080p screen, anything bigger than that and it just looks bloated in my opinion. I might be a bit bias though since I used to use a 24" 1920x1200 and now using a 27" 2560x1440, those are the standard size for those resolutions.

I go around the web quite a lot everyday, but the main reason, why I need a new monitor, is games. I play mostly FPS games, but there are times, when I play racing. To be more precise, Im looking at BenQ XL2720T, as I can get it in my country for quite a good price. I have been living with 60Hz all my life and want to test out 120Hz. Might not be possible to hit those 120 frames with my GTX760, but I wont use any AA and some other things. But it is a TN, so colors wont be as good as IPS. I am quite concerned.

You might be disappointed, or you may not. I've heard 120Hz could only appreciate it if their cards could consistently hit that rate. Some that do sink back to 60Hz because it was more gimmicky than effective. It's up to you.

But I'd get an IPS.
