Want to Switch from Intel to AMD

Hey guys, so I have an HP G62-457DX that my sister completely fried before she gave it to me. I'm not sure what is wrong with it but I figured I'd just rebuild it from the motherboard up. My problem is that it came from the factory with an Intel motherboard and CPU. For my own reasons, I prefer AMD to Intel and would like to make the switch. My question is, in a laptop shell that was designed for an Intel mobo/CPU, will an AMD mobo/CPU fit? Or am I stuck with the Intel setup?

Yea with laptops your pretty much stuck with the motherboard that was designed for it. Sometimes they may make the same model with an AMD or Intel option but 99% of the time your stuck.
