Hi, I have recently brought a EVGA GTX 770 acx and installed the correct drivers, however when I try to overclock (even the tiniest amount) it almost automatically crashes when I run a game. (without the oc its fine). I am completely fulfilling the power requirements, using a 6 pin and a 8 pin pci power cable, and using a 750 watt PSU. I initially blamed the crashing on the fact EVGA precision X wont actually let me overvolt, when I bring up the overvolting tab it seems to be already fully maxed out and wont let me adjust the voltage at all. Am I doing anything seriously wrong to cause this, or have you any ideas as to why this keeps happening? So far I have also recently used MSI afterburner, but even after ticking the allow voltage control button I still cant adjust the voltage:(

PS Im new to this site so go easy on me:p

Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD55
RAM: 8BG corsair @1600
CPU: i5 3570k
PSU: Novatech 750W ( http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/nov-psb750.html )
GPU: EVGA gtx 770 acx
HDD: Western Digital 2TB
Newest Nvidia drivers ( 3.27)

Thanks for the reply, I tried afterburner but again even after only +55 mhz it crashed when in game farcry 3:(, this problem is getting stranger I unticked the allow overvoltage button on the options menu in afterburner, but the overvoltage option is still greyed out as if its not ticked even after shutting it down and re- opening.

Also, I installed kobustor, and ran it, got max temps of 59* , however one really weird thing happened, when running I suddenly got terrible coil whine! It was seriously loud and maybe something to do with the crashing.

Yeah, the card was new, although im now certain it was coming from the psu not the gpu. What do you think is causing msi afterburner, and evga precision x not giving me the option to overvolt?

I found some of that "coil whine" comes from poorly manufactured gpu fans........ shame on the manufacturers for trying to save 5 cents per gpu.

sometimes these pre over clocked cards are pushed near their max and stability becomes an issue rapidly.

agree with possible RMA/return.

Im begging to agree with you guys on the return option, Im still worried about the psu though, it seems the whine only came about when used msi kombustor, and my previous card a msi 660 ti also suffered from a simular problem towards the last months I had it.

I could possibly try borrow a different psu of a friend with a similar setup if thats what you mean. Its odd because I dont think its the GPU since its works fine, and a one before it had the same problem im having now. Novatech isnt exactly a well known psu brand and the fact no overclocking software will let me overvolt is suspicious.
