I recently bought a new monitor to multitask for school and to be able to watch streams or browse the internet as I am playing games. That's when I realized that my computer drops about 20 to 30 FPS when I am playing a multiplayer game and it also feels a bit choppy and not smooth as I am used to. I also tried testing it on a single player game and although the frames did not drop the game still felt choppy. I tried turning off hardware acceleration on flash, updated my GPU drivers, updated the flash plugins for my browser and I still cant figure it out.

My computer specs are...

CPU :i7 3770k 3.50ghz
RAM: 16 gb ddr3 1666mhz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce gtx 660 2gb
MB: ASrock Z77 Extreme
HDD: 1tb Hitachi 7200 rpm 32 mb cache, 120 gb samsung SSD
PSU: 750 watts
OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Please help me figure this out. I have tried looking everywhere for help, but I haven't found anything that actually worked.

I have an Asus VH247PH, Samsung Syncmaster 2370HD. As I said on my post I did update my GPU drivers and Flash as well. Even if I have a stream open in the background in one monitor while I am playing a game it still lags. I really don't know what to do to fix it. I play all kinds of games and I have tested it on MP and SP and the choppy feeling is always there when there is a stream open.

sorry to bump a thread this old, but i am running into the same issue. I recently got myself a third screen, a 120/144hz BenQ, and now i have the BenQ on a DVI port, my previous main screen (1080p60h) on hdmi, and a small 1024x768 screen with a vga to dvi adapter on the second DVI port of my GTX770.
I have the same symptoms as xtricity, getting 150+ fps in MW3 but it feels like 20-30, and I discovered that it doesn't happen with all applications i put on the second 1080p screen. For example, it does happens when i put my browser on there, and foobar (with visualisation). But I can put the Steam chat window and ventrilo/teamspeak windows on there without any problems.
If I put a browser window or foobar on my small, 1024x768 screen I do get the symptoms, but only now and then.
maybe this new information can shed some light on the issue
