Sata II raid 0 or Sata III?

Hiya,

I currently have a Crucial m4 as my boot disk with a few programs on and a standard spin disk for storage. Im now looking for more storage, I dont need huge amount as it will be for Photoshop and Premiere Pro (temporary storage basically). Do I get a 250gb sata 3 ssd or 2x 128gb sata 2 in raid 0?

Thnks

More about sata raid sata iii
  1. raid0 only doubles the risk of losing the data. Get the 250Gb.

Its only temporary storage, so losing data is no big deal to me on these drives! Which is the better performer as I can get the 2 sata 2s cheaper than a sata 3
  3. Raid on SSD's isn't worth the risk - even if the data isn't critical, there isn't much benefit.

  4. As you will be doing a lot of writes and re-writes to the drive, I would avoid a RAID. Most computer don't support TRIM over RAID so your drive performance will dive quickly. A single SSD would be able to TRIM and maintain better performance overall.
