I am looking for a cooler for and i3-4130.
All coolers can dissipate 54W so that is not an issue.
All I am looking for is something quieter than stock at a low price.
thanks if you read and answer!

Thanks for the responses I was thinking the 212 could be a possibility but seeing as I am just getting a non overclocked i3 I was wondering if I could get away with less.
The case I intend to get is the zalman z3 or xigmatek asgard pro
the z3 is new and i can't find cpu cooler support yet but the asgard pro has 160mm clearance

The Zalman z3 is 192mm wide with plenty of clearance so it will easily fit the hyper 212 and most other coolers, the hyper 212 is considered one of the cheapest coolers as well as being one of the best.

Price wise its under $50 and the super low end are like 35-40 so 10 dollar difference really to get something thats quality. It may seem overkill but truth be told the colder your CPU stays the longer it's gonna last and it will also perform top notch all the time if temps arent a factor

I can't find the cooler support for the Z3 either, but from the main site I see it has a CNPS11X installed, and that is 154mm tall. So it is *at least* that.*

There is the Xigmatek Loki - a smaller, 92mm fan variant - that is $5 cheaper. Might be slightly louder in pitch, though. Xigmatek also produces this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233061 but I can't vouche for its effectiveness.

If being quiet is the name of the game, though, a 120mm fan wouldn't be such a bad idea.
