  2. No an Solid State Drive is not needed for a gaming PC but it will greatly improve loading speeds and boot up times.
  3. at least 120 GB, for the OS and a few games.
  4. If you do decide to get an SSD I would highly recommend the Kingston HyperX 3K or the Samsung 840 Pro.

    They're a luxury, definitely not a necessity. You have to get a pretty big one (read:expensive) to put games on, so you usually don't get a real benfit for gaming anyway if your games are on a HDD. 120GB is the lowest i would recommend, anything smaller gets filled up too fast.
